Update from Administrator – December 30, 2020

Hope that you all had a Happy and Safe Christmas Holiday. Wishing you and your families a New Year filled with Health and Happiness.  As always, I just want to give you an update on the status of a few important things at Valerie Manor.

We currently have 2 residents and 1  staff  member that are Covid positive. With Litchfield County having a positivity rate above 10%, all nursing homes in the county are now testing staff members twice per week. Residents continue to be tested weekly.  This will help to identify any resident or staff that has COVID-19, without any symptoms.  As always, we will alert you if your loved one tests positive.

The facility is following the guidance for proper cohorting of residents which leads to room changes for our residents.  While this is often an inconvenience, it is for the safety and benefit of all residents in the facility.

On Sunday, December 27, 2020, CVS Pharmacy held a Covid 19 Vaccination Clinic in the facility for our residents and staff  who wanted their 1st dose of the Pfizer vaccines. CVS Pharmacy will be returning on January 17, 2020 to provide another vaccine clinic—providing the second dose for those who received vaccination on 12/27 and offering the first dose for those who may now wish to be vaccinated.

Finally, please be reminded to call  or email Tracy Hoskins, Director of Recreation and schedule window visit and arrange time for skype/facetime visits with your loved one.

Valerie Manor’s next Town Hall Phone Call will be next Friday, January 8, 2020 at 2:00pm,  We will send another weekly email update prior to the call as well.
