Update from Administrator – December 11, 2020

Hi Everyone:

Hope you are staying safe and feeling well. As always, I just want to give you an update on the status of a few important things at Valerie Manor. In addition, I have attached an information sheet for your review.

We continue to test all of our staff and residents on a weekly basis. We currently have 20 residents and 13 staff that are Covid positive.. As the state’s positivity rate continues to climb, the state is directing nursing homes to test all residents for COVID 19. This will identify any resident that has COVID-19, without any symptoms. As always, we will alert you if your loved one tests positive.

The facility is following the guidance for proper cohorting of residents which leads to room changes for our residents. While this is often an inconvenience, it is for the safety and benefit of all residents in the facility.

We are starting to receive some information regarding the vaccination of our staff and residents. CVS will be administering the vaccines for our facility and it appears this may be as soon as December 27, 2020. As more information comes to us, we will share it with all of you—this includes information on the vaccine, consent forms, etc.)

We are also in the midst of decorating resident rooms for the holidays. Our recreation staff is working hard to keep up everyone’s holiday spirits.

Please be reminded to call or email Tracy Hoskins, Director of Recreation and schedule window visit and arrange time for skype/facetime visits with your loved one.
We will briefly hold our weekly Town Hall phone call today December 11, 2020 at 2:00pm.
